I wrote this for the music after the last chorus in Shadow of the Day, for those who have heard the song in its entirety.

So you step in to the unknown,
With darkness behind and mist ahead,
Close the door behind you
Step off the ledge,
Hope your wings work.
And as the shadows fade,
And the stars fill the night
With bright and simple clarity,
The past and present come together.
